Just finished The Book Thief, I can't believe I haven't read it before, simply wonderful. The story is so gripping I read till my eyes nearly bled and got up early to read it too before work. Narrated by Death, half way through you are trusting him as a narrator and actually enjoying his account. It's the story of a young girl who goes from not knowing how to read to becoming an ardent book lover, it's also the story of loving foster parents, the holocaust, and a small community on the fringes of Dachau. Read it, love it, press it into the hands of the next person you see.
